– Packing light
– Choosing a lightweight, breathable baby carrier
– Breastfeeding to keep baby hydrated
– Choosing scrunchable travel-friendly water bottles
– Choosing travel-friendly baby-safe (chemical and paraben-free) sunscreen sticks such as California Baby SPF 30 + Sunscreen Stick
– Protecting baby from mosquitoes with travel-friendly baby-safe mosquito repellent wipes such as Bite Blocker Herbal Repellent Wipes, choosing appropriate mosquito netting for sleep times, and visiting a travel clinic for appropriate vaccinations or prescribed anti-malaria medicines if you are traveling to a malaria zone
– Planning for both outdoor and indoor activities when weather is extreme
– Embracing play with water, preparing for impromptu fun in the water by packing along cloth swimmers and a couple of wet/dry bags and relaxing about baby getting wet and dirty

Never Leave Home Without A Health Kit
We’ve been using California Baby sun block products for the past year, and although I love their SPF 50 facial stick, I don’t think their cream/lotion version works AT ALL. My toddler is tanning right through generous layers of it. I’ll have to try the stick version.
You might also want to check out the list of best sunscreens designated by the Environmental Working Group. It includes a list of all the most effective and chemical-free sunblocks on the market as of summer 2012. California Baby sunscreen stick is included on the best of list- as effective and safe with a rating of “1” on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst for health due to chemicals. The site also includes sunscreens found to be ineffective and unsafe. Check it out here: http://breakingnews.ewg.org/2012sunscreen/best-sunscreens/best-beach-sport-sunscreens/
I personally stopped using the liquid version just because it was so messy and I ended up avoiding using it because of the mess :). I like the stick. There are many other brands on the list you might want to consider, too.
